Anthropic Acquires Stainless to Deepen Agent Connectivity

Anthropic acquired Stainless, an SDK and MCP tooling company, to improve how Claude-based agents connect to APIs and tools.

Anthropic announced the acquisition of Stainless, a company that generates SDKs, command-line tools and MCP servers from API specifications. Anthropic said Stainless had powered its official SDKs from the early days of the Claude API.

The deal placed agent connectivity near the center of the competitive stack. Better models matter only if they can safely reach the systems where work happens, and standardized SDKs and connectors reduce the effort required to turn a model capability into a working integration.
